Bean there, done that? Doubt it because these beans hit different. Delicious butter beans are simmered with garlic, parmesan and herbs for a dish that tastes way fancier than ten minutes should allow. A spoon of Lemon Paprika Chicken Broth adds bold flavour plus gut support in one hit. Toast on the side is non-negotiable.

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1 can butter beans (with the liquid in the can)
  • 1/2 tbsp Chicken Bone Broth Lemon Paprika
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan
  • 1/2 tsp cracked pepper
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley + extra to serve 
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme + extra to serve 
  • toasted sourdough (to serve)
  1. To a medium saucepan, add olive oil and garlic cooked until softened and starting to brown.
  2. Add smoked paprika and cook for a few seconds, watch the paprika doesn’t burn, add butter beans (and liquid from the can), chicken broth, water, pepper, herbs, lemon juice and zest. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Add half the parmesan, butter and stir through.
  4. Serve topped with remaining parmesan and fresh herbs along with toasted sourdough.
