Avocado Hummus

When the clock strikes 3pm (or 10am, or whenever your internal clock begins screaming for sustenance) and a snaccident seems imminent, we like to get dipping mouth first into a bowl of Avocado Hummus. With so much flavour and crunch in satisfying bite sized serves, this satisfying snack will tide you over until your next meal.

  • 2 avocados
  • approx 14 oz can organic chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 heaped tbsp savoury yeast flakes
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable Broth Garden Veggie
  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 2 tbsp pepitas
  • 1 tbsp tahini
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • cracked black pepper
  • 1 cup of parsley leaves
  • carrot, cut into strips
  • celery, cut into strips
  • cucumber, cut into strips
  • pinch of salt
  • flatbread, toasted and cut into wedges
  • seed crackers of your choice
  1. Place the avocado, chickpeas, tahini, vegetable broth, savoury flakes, parsley, garlic, lemon juice, salt and pepper in a food processor and process until smooth. Season to taste
  2. Pour into a bowl and top with hemp seeds and pepitas
  3. Serve with flatbread, vegetables and seed crackers
